Discovering the Idea for our Trailer

We started with an initial discussion session where we decided to create a trailer for a film about someone who suffers with a mental health illness, such as OCD.  The narrative would follow the protagonist's progression from being severely held back and isolated by their condition, to being able to participate in life and fulfill their dreams, all through the introduction and help of a specific friend.  The genre of our trailer would be drama/comedy, with elements of social realism, the film would reflect something like 'Rain Man' and the trailer would have a similar feel to that of a film like 'Wonder'.

We were initially unsure what the rough story line of our trailer would be so we decided to go away and come back the next lesson, each with our own rough trailer storyboard with ideas for what the complete narrative of our film could be.  We came up with the very clear idea of having a montage at the beginning of the trailer showing the extreme routine of the protagonist's life and an idea for having the protagonist work hard at a hobby comtinuing until they reach perfection, reflecting a positive side to OCD.
