Iconography - Coming of Age 

Coming-of-age films are often set in school environments due to the young ages of their characters. They also tend to play into the iconography of romantic genres, using intimate two-shots for their protagonist and love interest; and they make use of the latest technology, again emphasising the characters' youth.
